Robert M. Pickus is a Managing Director of GCA Capital Group and the Chief Executive Officer of GCA Leisure. He is a results-oriented senior leader with extensive experience in the casino entertainment industry, including broad expertise in strategic corporate planning, project development and operation, and governmental and regulatory compliance.
 
Mr. Pickus also currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AG&E Holdings Inc., a publicly-traded parts distributor to the casino and gaming markets, and serves on its Audit Committee. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Valley Forge Casino Resort, a full service casino resort facility located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and served as its Executive Chairman from 2014-2015. Additionally, he is engaged as advisor and regulatory counsel to EPR Properties, a publicly-traded REIT, where he has been instrumental in leading the application process and ultimately securing a new casino license issued in the Catskills area of New York.
 
Previously, Mr. Pickus was an officer of Trump Entertainment Resorts (TER) for over 25 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as the Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In that capacity, he was responsible for the legal, human resources, risk management, development and governmental affairs functions of this $1 billion, publicly-traded company. In 2005 and 2010, Mr. Pickus coordinated legal and financial advisors to accomplish TER’s successful efforts to restructure its capitalization. The 2005 effort resulted in the consensual restructuring of $1.8 billion of debt. In 2010, following a two week trial, TER’s plan of reorganization was confirmed and its debt reduced by over $1.4 billion. In addition, Mr. Pickus developed TER’s initial compliance programs, including drafting its Code of Business Conduct, establishment of an Ethics Committee and implementation of on-line ethics and related training for its 10,000 employees.
 
Mr. Pickus’ business development experience includes the selection as successful bidder for a casino in Gary, Indiana, for which he also directed the financing, planning and development. He negotiated trademark licensing and management agreements for a casino on Canuoan Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Mr. Pickus also negotiated management and development agreements and arranged the financing for Trump 29, a tribal casino near Palm Springs, California. He was responsible for the selection of senior management at all of these successful operations.
 
Mr. Pickus has served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law teaching casino law and a lecturer to the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He has been active in the initiation of various responsible gaming programs and was recognized for those efforts by commendation of the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey.
 
Mr. Pickus currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute for Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism of Stockton University. Mr. Pickus has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the National Arts Club in New York City and as its Secretary, a Member of its Executive Committee and the Chair of its Governance and Nominating Committees. Mr. Pickus is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Rutgers College.
